Benefits for your business
Apprenticeship units support your business to:
- address critical skills gaps quickly and flexibly
- build a more agile and productive workforce
- access employer-designed, funded training that is relevant and high-quality
Cost
Apprenticeship units are fully funded for non-levy paying employers. Levy payers can use their levy funds to pay for apprenticeship units. If you're a levy payer and exhaust your funds, you’ll move into co-investment. The co-investment rate is currently 5% and will increase to 25% from August 2026 for new starts. Find out more in the apprenticeship unit funding rules.
Your responsibilities
You'll need to:
- identify the skills your business needs and choose the right training
- work with your training provider to plan delivery around your operations and to agree the appropriate assessment approach
- give employees dedicated time to take part in training
- confirm when employees have successfully completed their training and when the skills test has been passed
